Join PepsiCo in our mission to ensure the quality and safety of our products. As an Assistant Manager in Quality Control, you’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining our high standards and fostering a culture of quality at our green field plant in Kosi, Uttar Pradesh, India.

Responsibilities:

  • Startup and Stabilization: Lead the vertical startup and stabilization of our new green field operation, ensuring the quality of shift operations.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain and enhance quality systems while supporting food safety initiatives within the plant. Deliver consistent, high-quality, and safe products in line with PepsiCo standards.
  • Compliance: Take responsibility for SOX compliance in the i2C process and assist control owners. Support compliance with statutory requirements, including FSSAI and Weights and Measures act.
  • Consumer Feedback: Analyze consumer complaints and take appropriate action, sharing reports with the Quality Control Manager.
  • Team Development: Train and develop Quality Control Operatives, monitor their performance, and conduct performance appraisals.
  • Quality Management Systems: Implement PeQMS and monitor the Waste Utilization Rate (WUR).
  • Agro Coordination: Collaborate with Agro for potato quality.
  • Quality Culture: Build a quality culture within the plant, ensuring the right quality product is delivered on time.
  • Quality Review: Conduct weekly quality review meetings with the Site leadership team and drive agreed-upon action points.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with Quality Executives and Shift In-Charges to address daily quality issues and implement best practices.
  • Process Audits: Ensure monthly process audits for manufacturing lines and take actions for product quality improvement.
  • Potato Management: Support Agro Manager in potato management process, including audits of potato 3P for storage and testing compliance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead or support task forces for quality improvements and food safety audits.
  • FLI QA Programs: Drive implementation of FLI QA programs and support Quality Assurance Manager in driving HH pillar activities.
  • Best Practices: Reinforce best practices in Process/Packaging sections to meet targets on leakages and shortages.
  • New Product Development: Support R&D team in the timely launch of new products and initiatives.
  • Process Capability: Ensure quarterly process capability checks for all lines and work on improvements.
  • Distributor Visits: Facilitate monthly distributor visits for insights into quality issues in the market.
  • Training: Partner with HR to provide training on food safety, safety, personal hygiene, product, and packaging quality.
  • Performance Tracking: Manage the compilation and tracking of key quality performance indicators.
  • Cost of Quality: Communicate the concept of “cost of quality” to employees.
  • Retraining: Ensure quarterly skills analysis for the QA team and operatives, conducting retraining as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Technology or related field.
  • Experience: 4-6 years of experience in Quality Assurance within food manufacturing units.
  • Certifications: Experience with FSSAI, AIB, and HACCP in food processing facilities.
