Position: Production Chemist
Business Unit: Fine Chemicals
Location: Bharuch
Reports to: Shift In Charge
Summary:
We are seeking a Production Chemist to ensure the smooth operation of the plant during shifts, following SOPs and work instructions.
Responsibilities:
- Operate the plant according to SOPs and BPRs under the guidance of the shift in charge.
- Maintain shift reports and daily documents.
- Operate and clean process equipment as per SOPs.
- Ensure the upkeep of BPRs.
- Implement 5S and TPM practices in the plant and office.
- Strictly adhere to safety permit protocols.
- Maintain safety for personnel, materials, and machinery.
- Participate in commissioning new products and maintaining related documentation.
- Contribute to energy management objectives by suggesting and implementing energy-saving practices.
- Keep necessary documents as per IMS requirements.
- Ensure production, packing, and labeling activities align with SOPs.
- Collect process samples following shift in charge’s instructions and safety precautions.
- Handle loading and unloading of materials as directed by the shift in charge.
- Report deviations from standard practices.
- Perform packing and labeling activities for finished goods according to SOPs.
- Maintain awareness of responsible care practices (Environment, Health, Safety, and Security).
- Clear plant residue backlog and ensure online operation.
- Undertake additional responsibilities assigned by management.
Qualification & Experience:
- Diploma in Chemical Engineering or B.Sc in Chemistry.
- 3-5 years of experience in Fine Chemical, Bulk Drug, or API Plant.
Key Competencies:
- Proficiency in Fine Chemical and batch chemical processes.
- Practical experience in commissioning new API, Bulk Drug, or Batch Chemical plants.
- Familiarity with Reactors, filters, and centrifuges in batch processes.
- Adherence to quality and safety norms.
- Understanding of DCS / PLC based plant operations.
