Job Title: Senior Manager FSQ – LRC
Reporting to: GEMS LRC Head
Functional Area

Location: Mumbai, India
Frequent Contacts: Customers, Distributors, GEMS and US FSQ teams, various Business teams, Supply Chain, Product Registration partners, R&D, Consumer Relations partners, external relations, trade associations, Risk Management, and Legal.

Role Overview:
As a Senior Manager FSQ – LRC, you will play a crucial role in providing labeling, regulatory, and technical specification support to General Mills Global Emerging Markets (GEMS). Your responsibilities include ensuring regulatory compliance, overseeing product label information, managing cross-functional partnerships, and mitigating risks related to food safety, litigation, and branding.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Management: Lead a team of 8-12 professionals across multiple countries, overseeing India exports and Southeast Asia. Foster team development, manage budgets, and set strategic priorities.
  2. Labeling and Regulatory Affairs Compliance: Ensure accurate food labeling information, product specifications, and compliance with government regulations and certifications. Act as a regulatory advisor and lead labeling regulation changes.
  3. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Export Compliance, Government Relations, Nutrition & Health, Law, and Trade Associations.
  4. Product Quality Assurance: Approve packaging and labeling, provide FSQ input on imported products, and resolve regulatory issues to protect General Mills.
  5. Other Responsibilities: Implement company policies and standards, coordinate distributor/warehouse activities, manage product reformulations, and support marketing claims.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology/Science or related field.
  • 10-15 years of Labeling and Regulatory Affairs experience.
  • Prior management experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of food regulations in India and Southeast Asia.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Problem-solving abilities, adaptability, and independence.
  • Willingness to travel within the region.

Additional Skills/Experiences:

  • Familiarity with gPLM business processes.
  • Experience in developing and influencing business and regulatory strategies.
  • Ability to mentor and coach team members.
  • Strong decision-making skills.
  • Development opportunities in people management, regulatory influence, nutrition, and labeling regulations.
