Job Description:
Overview:
- Ensure thorough inspection of raw materials and packaging materials in accordance with acceptance/rejection criteria.
- Verify that the finished products meet quality and food safety requirements.
- Maintain lab inventory to prevent stock shortages.
Responsibilities:
- Perform quality checks on received raw materials and packaging materials, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
- Monitor tests on raw materials and packaging materials, report non-compliance by service providers, and communicate corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive reports for distribution to relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct regular audits of raw material and packaging material storage, adhering to FIFO/FEFO principles and implementing allergen controls.
- Facilitate the effective implementation of food safety policies.
- Ensure the highest quality of raw materials and packaging materials through rigorous quality checks and inspections.
- Implement appropriate quality control systems and standards for vendors and suppliers.
- Uphold Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Hygiene Practices (GHK) by following a master cleaning schedule, lab safety, and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) as per ASHA requirements, and participate in internal/external audits (HACCP, AIB, personal hygiene, and process audits) at the plant.
- Promote ASHA compliance at the site.
- Communicate with vendors regarding root cause analysis and failure analysis for deviations and follow up on the implementation of corrective actions.
- Ensure the receipt of high-quality raw materials and packaging materials in line with FLI standards.
- Report any deviations or discrepancies to vendors and procurement and oversee the implementation of corrective and preventive measures.
- Maintain documentation related to KC 13 and ensure compliance with it.
- Coordinate the collection of AA samples on a monthly basis.
- Provide training to staff in raw material and packaging material stores, 3PL, and the lab on technical, quality, and food safety requirements.
- Compile data related to GSM, exception reports, and raw material and packaging material quality reports.
- Ensure the calibration of lab equipment and other online measuring devices.
- Conduct personnel hygiene checks for the plant and drive improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Food Technology.
- 2-3 years of experience in the food manufacturing industry with a background in raw material and packaging material testing.
- Functional expertise in raw material and packaging material testing, food safety systems, quality assurance systems, GMP policies, people analytical skills, strong interpersonal skills, ability to inspire trust, effective communication skills, ability to work under pressure, and a high level of integrity are desirable.
