Overview:
At PepsiCo, we’re looking for an Assistant Manager in Quality Control to join our dynamic team based in Pune, Maharashtra. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the delivery of top-notch product and packaging quality. Your primary responsibilities will include maintaining quality data MIS and implementing quality auditing systems like QAS and analytical system health audit (ASHA). You will also oversee adherence to key controls for finished goods (FG) testing and process compliance. Coordinating with internal and external cross-functional teams to meet quality metrics is a key aspect of this position.

Responsibilities:
As the Assistant Manager in Quality Control, your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Ensuring the establishment and maintenance of quality systems in the plant, as well as supporting New Product Development (NPD) and other R&D trials.
  • Troubleshooting critical quality concerns alongside online Quality Control Executives and packaging checkers.
  • Providing training and skill enhancement to QC Executives and associates.
  • Implementing robust quality control standards across processes, physical systems, and the environment.
  • Holding accountability for various quality-related metrics, including product and packaging quality Wall in Green score, Consumer Quality Assurance (CQA), Product Trade Quality, PQMD score, and consumer complaint reduction.
  • Overseeing the QAS score, QM pillar Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), IPS audit score, and training calendar compliance.
  • Leading efforts to reduce the cost of poor quality and ensuring compliance with quality system standards.
  • Collaborating with the plant Agro team to maintain high potato and corn quality and minimize rejections.
  • Driving the reduction of consumer and customer complaints through effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Coordinating with Research and Development (R&D) and Commercialization teams for new product launches while ensuring 100% compliance with PepsiCo Quality and Food Safety (Q&FS) standards.
  • Striving for zero Lost Time Incidents (LTI) and Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) within the work zone area.
  • Conducting in-market checks for product and packaging quality to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Supporting the food safety team in various compliance programs, including AlB, FSSC, and other food safety compliances.
  • Leading the capability building in the Quality Control team, preparing a training calendar, and conducting monthly training sessions as the site L3 SET.
  • Analyzing rejections and working with stakeholders to reduce the cost of poor quality.
  • Ensuring compliance in audits such as CFA and SDP through physical and virtual means.

Qualifications:
Key Skills/Experience Required:

  • Exposure to food safety systems and ISO standards.
  • A minimum of 5-6 years of experience in the food industry, preferably with shift management experience.
  • Preferable knowledge of FSSAI, HACCP, AIB, and TPM.
  • Desirable certification as an internal auditor.
  • Strong team management, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word.
  • Language proficiency in English and Hindi.

Qualification Required:

Graduation or Post-graduation in Food Technology, Microbiology, or Dairy Technology.
