Description
Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead and provide direct supervision to hourly associates, including training, validation of training booklets, and performance management.
  • Actively participate in Continuous Improvement Programs to drive productivity enhancements.
  • Collaborate with the Quality team and production analysts for updates/changes in product formulations.
  • Conduct lean meetings, ensure follow-up on action items, and maintain SWP and risk assessments.
  • Oversee product quality, proactively manage complaints, and make recommendations for line improvements.
  • Attend meetings with the Union, hourly associates, and Human Relations as necessary.
  • Create and execute sensory evaluations, pH and moisture tests, and monitor compliance with quality specifications.
  • Maintain a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act, JHSC recommendations, MOL Work orders, Company Safety rules, and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Provide performance management counseling and progressive discipline when needed.
  • Engage in monthly safety/crew talks and accident investigations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to enhance product quality, reduce waste, and improve production efficiency.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, including hands-on involvement in technical or production tasks as required.
  • Lead risk assessments to mitigate safety risks, review and analyze product compliance, and ensure adherence to GMPs, Food Safety, and Health & Safety requirements.
  • Manage direct labor hours through Kronos verification and provide line coverage when required.

Position Requirements
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND & WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Possess relevant post-secondary education.
  • 2-5 years of Supervisory experience, preferably in a unionized facility.
  • Prior experience in a unionized food, dairy, beverage, or packaged goods industry is advantageous.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage front-line industrial relations issues.
  • Familiarity with good labor/management practices, health and safety standards, regulations, and best practices.

Adaptability to a 24-hour, 6-day operation schedule.
