Position : Food Technologist – Research & Development (R&D)

Job Summary:
Wellversed is seeking a Food Technologist for our Research and Development (R&D) team. This role is integral in researching and developing innovative food products and optimizing their industrial production processes.
Responsibilities:
As a Food Technologist in our NPD team, your responsibilities will encompass:
- Conduct ing comprehensive literature reviews to stay updated on the latest trends and research in the food industry.
- Analyzing competitive products to identify gaps and opportunities for innovation.
- Researching and evaluating ingredients for potential inclusion in product development.
- Identifying cost-saving opportunities while optimizing product quality and safety.
- Establishing relationships with reliable ingredient vendors.
- Investigating methods and technologies to enhance food quality, including flavor, color, texture, and nutritional value.
- Formulating new product compositions and participating in product enhancement projects.
- Ensuring compliance with nutritional labeling regulations set by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).
- Conducting sensory analysis to evaluate product attributes and consumer preferences.
- Developing quality control checklists to maintain consistent product standards.
- Collaborating with the production team to create pilot batches of new products.
- Collecting and analyzing consumer feedback to drive product improvements, gauging market acceptance.
- Coordinating with the brand team to align R&D activities with brand strategies and objectives.
Requirements:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- 2+ years of full-time experience in Food Technology or related fields.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel/Google Sheets.
- Strong technical skills with a solid understanding of new product development (NPD) processes.
- A relevant degree in Food Technology, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, Nutrition, or a related field.
- Deep knowledge of research methodologies and a focus on obtaining actionable results.
- Learnability, flexibility, and adaptability to quickly grasp new concepts and adapt to changing project requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
- Good communication skills (preferred).
