Hilton Hotel Uses Cambro Handwash Station to Increase Sanitation Poolside

For a hotel in Huntington Beach, Calif., one of the most important amenities you can provide is drink service by the pool. At The Waterfront Beach Resort, a Hilton Hotel, while guests lounge around one of their two large pools overlooking the Pacific Ocean, they can order food and drinks straight to their chairs. To expedite drink service, servers prepare refreshing libations poolside. However, California health code requires that handwashing facilities be sufficient in number and conveniently located so that they are accessible at all times for use by food employees.

In order to be compliant, the hotel needed to find a way to offer handwashing outdoors because the closest sink is in the back of house inside the nearest tower’s kitchen. Plus, the hotel aims to be as sanitary as possible for their guests.

Their solution was the Mobile Handwash Station. The Mobile Handwash Station is constructed with durable, all-weather materials to outlast salty air and hot summer days.

Equipped with an 18-gallon freshwater tank, the Mobile Handwash Station provides approximately 200 handwashings when full. The hotel can use one tank during the week and needs as little as one refill during a busy weekend.

“It saves time; [we’re] more productive and able to service guests instead of running back and forth washing hands,” said Joseph Min, Director of Food & Beverageat The Waterfront Beach Resort.

The Mobile Handwash Station is completely touchless without the need for plumbing or electricity. Battery-operated soap dispensers can automatically allot soap while the foot pump stimulates the flow of water. A built-in paper towel dispenser accommodates standard size tri-fold paper towels for easy stocking and distribution.
