Job Overview
To monitor inventory levels of all assigned products at
every General Mills location every day; creating, or
adjusting replenishment requisitions as necessary
deploying General Mills products across the network in order to achieve service level targets within acceptable
Cost parameters.
Responsibilities
60% of Time
Operational responsibilities – Distribution Planning

Review system generated service alerts daily. Deploy
FG inventory across the network (General Mills CSF/
warehouses) to achieve service level case-fill goals
while balancing the inventory constraints with
transportation costs.

Maintain inventory levels at all Warehouses (CSFs)
within expected tolerances (space/transportation/
inventory constraints).

Create/Adjust deployment requisitions to ensure
smooth and steady flow of product to the CSFs

Review product obsolescen ce/age management
reports to proactively re-deploy inventory acro
locations as needed

Review actual inventory movement vs. forecast to
proactively react to demand trends (High/Low)

CSF SPOC
Act as a Single Point Of Contact from Deployment for
Plant Planners for an assigned Overflow / CSF

Update Load Levelling tool on rotational basis and
send communication to Deployment team

Assess the site situation with the help of various tool
(Tableau, IPD) / Information (TWRP / Replenishment
calls) and inform about the same in Load Levelling
huddles

Provide Load prioritization or build loads based on
outbound capacity

In event of CSF Gridlock situations, work with
deployers & transportation team to spread / cancel /
divert loads.

Review initialized requistions going into assigned CSF to
identify SKU’s with high DOS, that needs postponement
upstream hold or overflow strategy

Co-ordination

Co-ordinate with GMI distribution resources that
include CSF Planners, Plant planners, Transportation
Coordinators, Production Schedulers, Demand
Planning and other US-based resources

Schedule meetings with Plants to align on processes
and identify opportunities for process improvements

Participate in the meetings for Seasonal SKUs, New
products, Customer specific promotions, service
meetings
Actively participate in Staff meetings, Knowledge
sharing sessions, Trainings, Collaboration
10% of Time

Analysis & Reporting :-
Identify the reasons for shortfalls on customer orders
Investigate Off- Strategy Distribution movements

Analyze and report Key Performance Indicator’s (KPľ’s-
case fills, mode mix, reposition $ etc.) affecting the transportation costs.

Provide Service risk projections for short term and long term

Analyze & report key drivers (demand trends/
production etc.) impacting variances in weekly service
level performance

Additional Responsibilities :-
Weekly Service sheet preparation with proper root
cause analysis

  • ldentify opportunities for process improvements
  • Perform System updates/maintenance as necessary
  • Co-ordinate process documentation- Desk Manuals,
    Job Task Analysis and Critical Task Lists and
    conducting audit for the same.
    Act as back-up TL for service related issues for the
    division.
    Work on Special Projects as assigned

Education
Minimum Degree Requirements
Bachelors

Preferred Degree Requirements :- Masters

Preferred Major Area Of Study :- Supply Chain

Experience
Minimum years of related experience required:
Bachelors (4+ years) ; MBA (2+ years)

Preferred Years Of Related Experience :- 3-5

Specific Job Experience Or Skills Needed
Supply chain knowledge (Core Distribution Planning &
Logistic Operation, Basic logistic planning)
Systems (SAP) understanding

Additional Information Distribution planning of the inventory from Production
plants to warehouses to meet customer service level of 98.5%. Utilizing systems SAP capabilities to create
requisitions and building outbound shipments based on the forecast in the system at an item location level.
The other cost related KPIs, viz- Repositioning, Load Efficiency and Mode utilization needs to be balanced as per the
Customer service levels.
Shift: 3.30 pm – 12.30 am
