This individual will help drive data strategy and processes, ensure the solutions are sustainable, and follow General Mills’ standards. The role requires the ability to manage multiple initiatives and work well with various internal and external partners to bring capabilities to life across a variety of General Mills teams. Must be master of the language grammar, and be very familiar with how to structure, design, implementation, and testing of the project based on one or more languages
This role requires to work with cross functional global teams in developing business solutions. Individual should be expert in multiple technology stack, hands-on, design and architect scalable applications. Individual should be able to provide solutions and architecture design independently on large projects.

Job Responsibilities

50 % of Time

• Design solutions to integrate with various downstream and upstream systems/applications
• Design Logical and Physical data models to support business requirement
• Continuously improve the quality, consistency, accessibility, and security of our data activity
• Define best practices to define, monitor and orchestrate data quality of the business-critical data
• Understand the data sources used in C&F and develop a plan to enable or improve integrations, centralization, and maintenance
• Be able to tie data and integrations to business processes and day to day operations.
• Develop adaptable data integrated solutions that scale with the evolving business needs
• Understand data sources and systems and how they are integrated and can be integrated
• Exposure to/Experience with Salesforce platform
• Build and Connect complex systems and architectures
• Consult on projects, offer appropriate technical direction with appropriate communication for various audiences and resource estimates
• Identify elements of a project that are off-track and effectively pull plans together to improve a project trajectory
• Build enterprise level solutions, connecting multiple feature sets & components, identifies opportunities for integration points (Kafka, ElasticSearch, etc.)
• Lead strategic conversations and act as a resource for managers/directors to translate technical discussions
• Responsible for technical deliverables as per design and architecture
• Evangelize new technologies and emerging trends and able to efficiently find applicable uses
• Collaborate with other teams to utilize new features of platform technologies
35 % of Time

• Act as a key Data and Analytics technical leader with deep technical expertise
• Collaboratively develop the technology and capability roadmap
• Participate in the evaluation, implementation, and deployment of emerging tools and process in the Big Data space
• Partner with business analysts and solutions architects to develop technical architectures for strategic projects and initiatives
• Lead the design and implementation of sustainable tools & processes to support the big data ecosystem
• Develop communication & education plans for technical teams on technologies and processes in our big data ecosystem
• Participate as an active member of assigned product team including supporting existing and future solutions.
15 % of Time

Minimum Degree Requirements: Bachelors

Experience

Minimum years of related experience required: 12+ years

Specific Job Experience or Skills Needed
• Domain Expertise
o Experience with modern Cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud
o Hands on programming experience with one or more of Scala, Python, or Java
o Experience working with database systems and strong in SQL Experience developing complex SQLs for ad-hoc reporting
o Experience with Hadoop toolsets including Hive, Sqoop, HDFS commands and Spark
o Experience working directly with business clients to design a solution that meets business requirements; ability to clearly articulate pros and cons of various technologies and platforms and architectural options, as well as being able to document use cases, solutions, and recommendationso Having used general software engineering tools and processes like git, Jenkins, IntelliJ/Eclipse, Bash terminal, Jira/progress tracking, Agile
o ETL, reporting tools, data governance, data warehousing, structured and unstructured data
o Effective verbal and written communication and influencing skills

o Experience with database systems, with knowledge of SQL and NoSQL stores (e.g. MySQL, Oracle / MongoDB, SQL Server)
