Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop products based upon quality & customer requirements. This includes reviewing product performance, sensory evaluation, researching product standards and attributes, determining product safety, and directing consumer testing and analysis by third parties if needed.
  • Develop, review & approve packaging & labels ensuring regulatory compliance and internal requirements.
  • Act as the primary technical & regulatory resource for internal & external customers. This includes advising on potential product attributes for new product concepts, researching new regulations, manufacturing capabilities, legal compliance, and tracking food & non-food industry trends.
  • Create & manage product specifications, manage internal & external suppliers, contractors & other outside resources.
  • Lead product and process development projects, including recipe finalization, cost management, quality assurance, and legal assessment.
  • Optimize the cost/value of new and existing products, collaborating with global marketing, suppliers, supply chain, and other stakeholders.
  • Play an active role within the production team, ensuring that all hazards with the new product development are identified and managed.
  • Conduct weekly meetings among internal stakeholders, ensuring updates and planning of required inputs/trials/studies.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to help solve plant production issues.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor & Master’s degree in Dairy Engineering or Food industry with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent time management skills, sense of urgency, and desire to complete all assignments on a timely basis.
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of the new product development process.
  • Knowledge of ingredient functionality, product formulations, basic food preparation, and food/non-food safety.
  • Working knowledge of sensory evaluation procedures and various industry standards.
  • Understanding of food labeling regulations, GMP, HACCP, TQM, and other quality assurance systems.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and various nutrition databases.
