Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a process for reviewing and updating local and global Operations Food Safety policies. Ensure periodic reviews of all policies and business resources for relevance and content accuracy.
- Continuously evaluate the quality, impact, and scalability of Operations Food Safety training solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional partners to identify knowledge gaps and design learning initiatives to address them.
- Assess current training materials and delivery methods, proposing alternative solutions to enhance training effectiveness.
- Lead the development of policies, standards, and SOPs for multiple businesses, driving global change initiatives.
- Foster innovation by taking ownership of metrics and automation within the Operations Food Safety team, closely collaborating with Business Intelligence engineers to ensure food safety compliance across various food businesses.
- Utilize technology to automate and streamline compliance processes.
A Day in the Life:
As a Food Safety Manager, your role is instrumental in creating new programs, improving existing processes, and executing food safety and compliance initiatives. You will work closely with other members of the Food Safety team, Legal, Operations, and Business stakeholders.

The IN Operations Food Safety & Compliance team provides expert guidance in food safety for Amazon’s IN food businesses. Our mission is to build and maintain customer trust by ensuring the safety and quality of Amazon’s ingestible products. We achieve this through data-driven, science-based programs that continuously evolve for the benefit of our customers.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in business management, Food Science, or related field.
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in program management, independently managing Food Safety Operations in the South region.
- Knowledge of FSSAI Act and regulations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and autonomously.
- Experience in leveraging technology for process improvements and metrics.
- Demonstrated collaborative skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Self-motivated with keen attention to detail and deadlines.
- Proven experience in creating sustainable processes.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for business needs.
- Good analytical skills, with knowledge of SQL as an additional advantage.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Food Science or related field.
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in managing Food Safety and Quality in Retail grocery, food service, or food manufacturing.
- Knowledge of FSSAI Act and regulations.
- Experience in managing people/teams in the field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and autonomously.
- Experience in leveraging technology for process improvements and metrics.
- Demonstrated collaborative skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
