The Role:
As a Technical Product Manager for Novel Food Products, you will lead the development of innovative nutrition bars and snack formats designed specifically for the Indian palate. This role involves a blend of technical expertise, market research, customer engagement, and product innovation. You will collaborate closely with food scientists, market analysts, and cross-functional teams to deliver products that are both healthy and culturally resonant.

Responsibilities:

  1. Product Development & Innovation: Design, prototype, and test novel nutrition bars and snacks in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Utilize the latest food science and technology to create products that are nutritious, delicious, and aligned with the dietary preferences of the Indian market.
  2. Market Research & Consumer Insights: Conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends, preferences, and gaps in the Indian snack food market. Engage directly with customers through surveys, focus groups, and field research to gain valuable insights into their needs and preferences.
  3. Strategy & Planning: Develop product strategies that align with the company’s vision and market demands. Create detailed timelines, milestones, and budgets to guide product development from concept to launch.
  4. Collaboration & Leadership: Foster collaboration with internal teams, including R&D, marketing, sales, and supply chain, to ensure the success of product initiatives. Lead through influence, promoting a culture of innovation and excellence.
  5. Quality & Compliance: Ensure all products meet high standards of quality and comply with local food safety and regulatory requirements. Stay informed about regulatory changes and adapt product development processes accordingly.
  6. Customer Engagement & Feedback: Implement strategies for ongoing customer engagement to gather feedback on existing products and ideas for new ones. Use customer insights to iterate and improve product offerings continuously.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or PhD in Food Science, Nutrition, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in product development, preferably in the food industry, with a focus on nutrition bars, snacks, or related products.
  • Experience in the area of millet and grains preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the Indian food market, consumer preferences, and nutritional needs.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for food innovation and a customer-centric approach to product development.
