We are currently seeking an R&D Associate specializing in Product Development (Powders) for our Home Care Team based in Mumbai.

Background:
The laundry category enjoys consistent global growth.

We are accelerating this growth in South Asia.

Emphasis on laundry detergent powders development through foundational products and market initiatives.

High scope and complexity in these projects with an existing heavy workload.

Dedicated Development Officer (WL 1B) required for managing formulation and processing of laundry powders portfolio.

Job Description:

Innovation and 5S Responsibilities:
Support innovation and VIP projects for South Asia laundry powder projects.

Evaluate process feasibility (pilot scale) and main plant feasibility based on pilot scale learnings.

Suggest modifications based on technical insights.

Develop batches using various technology approaches.

Conduct shelf-life studies and adhere to storage protocols.

Analyze data from sample storage.

Define specifications for raw materials and finished goods.

Execute consumer testing, manage logistics, and update project teams.

Contribute to the innovation network team to ensure on-time project delivery.

Assist with CTI/Packaging sample preparation.

Approve and develop the local supplier base for global specifications.

Utilize internal digital tools for product development processes (e.g., SAP PLM).

Delivered Quality and Consumer Complaints:

Collaborate with Supply Chain & Quality teams for quality improvement and meeting quality metric targets.

Address quality complaints and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Provide technical input into local care line operations.

Conduct Process FMEAs and Risk Assessments to ensure consistent quality.

Competition & Others:
Monitor competitor activity and brief GDC & Brand teams.

Ensure robust claim support and regulatory compliance for all brands and communications.

Problem Complexity:
Deploy complex and innovative technologies.

Offer technical support for complex competition challenges and legal matters.

Conduct root cause analysis of quality issues and consumer complaints.

Manage product improvement and material reduction programs simultaneously.

Support 5S for laundry powders and collaborate with regional and global touchpoints.

Lateral Contacts:
Interface with R&D GDC, Discover, SEAC, Regulatory, and other teams.

Partner with Regional/Global Brand Development and Local Brand Building teams.

Collaborate with Supply Chain, Supply Management, CQA, suppliers, external agencies, labs, technical institutes, and experts.

Engage with other R&D interfaces such as CTI, appraisal, packaging, and processing.

Educational Qualification:
Minimum Qualification: MSc Chemistry / M Pharm/ BE Chemical Engineering / B.Tech. Chemical Engineering.

Minimum 2-4 years of experience in R&D (HPC).

Area of Specialization: Product Development / Technology Development / Process Engineering.

Experience working in cross-cultural teams on regional/global projects is required.
