Role Objective
To support the team lead in development and
implementation of new product pipeline for the Foods
Categories focused on Spices, Grains & Pantry Staple, Dry Fruits, Dry Mixes and emerging new value-added categories.

To adopt the culture of innovation as laid out in the
Innovation Management Process and support the team lead to drive product innovation projects.

Assist in product cost improvement projects in the
current business and thereby improve product margins
and the company bottom line.

Help the team lead in identifying new vendors for
developing / adapting new technologies, materials and
processes as part of development initiatives.

This role is responsible for assisting in the execution of
product briefs and help in process finalization for Foods projects for India business in areas of product and cost
innovation.

Develop appropriate specifications for RM/FG to support NPD.

Maintain laboratory equipment and inventory, provide
necessary technical inputs, and adopt and implement
protocols for lab infrastructure and maintain accurate records of experiments and investigation and the progress of projects.

Adhere to Internal processes and procedures and ensuring proper documentation of all the scientific and technical work carried out.

Prepare materials for submission to external lab
evaluation.

Be a user of R&D processes – Product Database system
(Innova/Mintel), Specification management tool and Sensory management tool etc

Able to conduct benchmarking exercises, shelf studies and assist in the planning and design of work for projects.

Carry out lab / pilot scale trials and assist in the planning and execution of plant scale trials.

Liaise with internal R&D team (Packaging, Project
Management, Analytical) and external CFT for project
activities.

Provide regular update to the manager on the project
details.

Qualifications and Requirements :-

Master’s degree in Food Science and Technology / Food Engineering from a reputed institute.

At least 4-7 years’ experience in Foods R&D in Top FMCG organizations.

Good understanding and some work experience in the
areas of Spice Blends / Meal Makers /Seasonings is highly desirable.

Experience in hands on work in the laboratory with
awareness about GL
