About the Role
DeHaat is building the future of food through Honest Farms, an initiative that brings responsibly grown, fully traceable produce from rural farms to modern consumers. We aim to create a transparent, fair, and sustainable food system.
We are looking for an innovative and results-driven Product Development Lead who will shape the future of our food portfolio. This role leads the full lifecycle—from concept, formulation, and testing to scalable commercial launch.
Senior Manager / Manager – NPD|DeHaat
Role Objective
- Lead the creation of a robust product pipeline with 50–60 new developments annually and 4–5 launches each quarter.
- Manage the complete NPD lifecycle ensuring products are innovative, delicious, scalable, and profitable.
- Establish and lead a full-fledged R&D center driving culinary creativity, technical excellence, and manufacturing alignment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Innovation & Ideation
- Develop the innovation pipeline using market trends, consumer insights, and emerging technologies in food tech and FMCG.
2. End-to-End Product Development
- Lead product creation from concept to launch—recipe formulation, sensory evaluation, ingredient sourcing, pilot trials, and scale-up.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Marketing, Sales, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to ensure aligned and seamless product execution.
4. Technical & Quality Leadership
- Ensure compliance with food science principles, HACCP, GMP, regulatory standards, and internal QA benchmarks.
5. Project & Budget Management
- Run multiple development projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines, budgets, and business goals.
6. Costing & Feasibility Analysis
- Conduct feasibility studies, costing, and profitability assessments for all new concepts.
7. Market & Consumer Insights
- Convert consumer research and market data into actionable and commercially viable product plans.

Qualifications & Competencies
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Food Technology or related field.
Experience
- 10+ years of progressive experience in NPD within FMCG, Food & Beverage, or Food Tech industries.
- Proven track record of launching successful food products.
Technical & Leadership Skills
- Strong expertise in food science, product development, quality systems, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent project management, strategic planning, cross-functional leadership, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- A portfolio showcasing innovative food products.
