Job Title: Senior Food Technologist – Frozen Food (HORECA)
Job Profile:
The Senior Food Technologist will oversee product development and innovation related to frozen food products for the HORECA (Hotels, Restaurants, Cafes/Catering) sector. This role involves close collaboration with the R&D team, ensuring that products meet both customer expectations and regulatory standards. Candidates with experience in food processing, especially frozen foods, are highly preferred.


Key Responsibilities

Product Development & Innovation:

Lead the development of new frozen food products tailored for the HORECA market.

Innovate and improve existing products based on market research, customer feedback, and emerging trends.

Ensure product consistency, quality, and taste through trials and experimentation.

Quality Control & Compliance:

Implement and monitor food safety standards (HACCP, FSSAI, FDA, etc.) in production.

Conduct regular quality checks to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.

Ensure all products adhere to hygiene and safety regulations both in production and at client locations.

Food Processing & Technology:

Oversee food processing operations, focusing on freezing techniques, preservation, and packaging.

Optimize processing techniques to enhance product shelf-life, nutritional value, and flavor.

Work with machinery and technology for efficient production and minimal waste.

R&D Leadership:

Lead research and development projects to improve food quality and processing efficiency.

Stay updated on advancements in food processing, freezing methods, and product innovation.

Collaborate with teams like procurement, marketing, and sales to align product development with market needs.

Client & HORECA Market Support:

Provide technical support and training to HORECA clients on product usage, storage, and handling.

Adapt to the unique requirements of the HORECA market, including portion control and packaging solutions.

Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain detailed records of product development, including formulations, ingredient sourcing, and production methods.

Provide regular reports to senior management on product performance and opportunities for improvement.

Manage documentation for regulatory compliance and certifications.


Requirements

Experience: 5-8 years as a food technologist in frozen food or food processing units.

Preferred Experience: Experience developing products for the HORECA sector and with formed products.

Skills:

Expertise in food processing, freezing methods, and product shelf-life management.

Solid understanding of food safety regulations (HACCP, ISO, etc.).

Strong problem-solving, project management, and organizational skills.

Education:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, or related disciplines.

Certifications in food safety, quality control, or frozen food processing are an advantage.

Other:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with internal teams and external clients.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
