About the Role:
As a Quality Officer at Britannia Industries Limited, your primary responsibility will be ensuring the highest quality and food safety standards are maintained throughout the production process. You will work closely with production teams and quality management to address non-conformities, verify system compliance, and ensure that all products meet established standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality & Food Safety Execution:
- Monitor product quality in real-time and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Regularly verify process records, ingredient shelf-life records, and quality checks.
- Oversee the correct functioning of critical process equipment like balances, metal detectors, and other machinery.
- Hygiene and GMP Compliance:
- Ensure that manufacturing processes adhere to food safety and GMP requirements.
- Train workers on quality standards, food safety, and hygiene.
- Conduct regular audits to verify compliance with food safety standards and implement immediate corrective actions.
- Statutory Compliance:
- Ensure that product wrappers are accurate and compliant with mandatory requirements.
- Conduct random sampling checks for weight compliance and ensure immediate corrective actions for non-adherence.
- Ensure proper calibration and certification of all weighing balances.
- Consumer Complaints:
- Monitor and investigate consumer complaints, identify probable causes, and work with management to design corrective measures.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of corrective actions through trend analysis and ongoing monitoring.
- Benchmarking:
- Visit retail outlets and distribution points to gather feedback on consumer concerns and identify areas for product improvement.
- Evaluate competitive products and recommend improvements to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvement opportunities across systems, cost, and time in collaboration with operations.
- Conduct periodic reviews to ensure continuous quality enhancement.
- Management Information System:
- Regularly report factory quality performance to the quality manager.
- Communicate critical food safety and quality concerns to the relevant teams immediately.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Strong background in quality assurance, food safety, or a related field.
- Experience in implementing food safety standards, GMP, and product quality management.
- Ability to conduct audits, handle consumer complaints, and ensure statutory compliance.
