About the Role
This leadership position will drive product innovation, process optimization, and technical excellence across Schreiber Foods’ Dairy & Beverages portfolio. The role plays a pivotal part in strengthening market leadership by developing innovative cheese variants and dairy-based products aligned with consumer needs and business strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Product Innovation & Development
- Lead design, development, and launch of new cheese products (processed, natural, specialty & value-added)
- Drive innovation across dairy & beverage products including yogurt and milk-based beverages
- Translate consumer insights and market trends into successful products
- Manage pilot plant trials, scale-up, and commercialization
Process & Yield Improvement
- Optimize cheese-making processes for higher yield and consistent quality
- Implement technologies to reduce wastage and improve efficiency
- Collaborate with plant teams to enhance manufacturing performance
Research & Technology Leadership
- Track global advancements in cheese science and dairy technology
- Build collaborations with universities, research institutions, and technology partners
- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies (cultures, enzymes, fermentation, automation)
Quality & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with FSSAI, Codex, and international food safety standards
- Establish testing, validation, and shelf-life protocols
- Partner with QA teams to address stability and compliance challenges
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing R&D/NPD team
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
- Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, and Operations
Key Performance Indicators
- Successful launch of new cheese SKUs annually
- Yield improvement in cheese production
- Reduction in wastage through R&D initiatives
- Faster time-to-market for new products
- Strong consumer acceptance and repeat sales
What You Need to Succeed
- Master’s / PhD in Dairy Technology, Food Science, or Food Engineering
- 15+ years of R&D experience in the dairy industry (5+ years in cheese development)
- Proven expertise in cheese microbiology, fermentation, cultures, and dairy chemistry
- Experience in pilot plants, scale-up, and industrial trials
- Exposure to international markets is a plus
