About the Job
Wellversed is seeking a creative and detail-oriented New Product Development Specialist with a strong background in Food Technology to join our team. The ideal candidate will use their research abilities and creativity to improve existing products and develop innovative new ones that cater to the needs of our target market. This role involves managing product testing, analyzing technical product issues, and evaluating materials, processes, and product effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead key R&D projects to support business goals.
- Develop research programs to improve existing products and explore new product potentials.
- Understand customer expectations for to-be-manufactured products.
- Execute improved technologies used by suppliers, competitors, and customers.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Operations to establish project goals and priorities.
- Transfer new technologies, products, and manufacturing processes in and out of the company.
- Research, design, and evaluate materials, processes, and equipment.
- Suggest tools and training programs to enhance employee performance.
- Monitor team metrics and ensure the achievement of goals.
- Document all phases of research and development.
- Manage customer relationships, conduct product testing, and perform RFPreviews and customer visits.
- Oversee testing procedures for raw materials, in-process, and finished products.
- Manage quality assurance department activities and maintain testing systems.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and organizational regulations and policies.
- Identify and resolve technical issues, defects, or problems, offering effective solutions.
Required Qualifications:
- Certifications in GHP & GMP HACCP, ISO 9001, ISO 22000, Auditing, etc., are highly desirable.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Strong pr oficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel or Google Sheets.
- Proven experience in a similar role.
- Exceptional creativity for problem-solving and product development.
- Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
