About the Role
Wellversed is looking for a passionate Research & Development Associate to drive innovation in nutraceutical and pharmaceutical product development. If you have hands-on experience in new product formulation, ingredient research, and scale-up processes, this role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge wellness products that impact thousands of lives.
Key Responsibilities
Product Formulation & New Product Development
- Develop and optimize nutraceutical and pharmaceutical formulations across formats including powders, tablets, capsules, liquids, sachets, and granules.
- Convert product briefs, regulatory requirements, and market needs into executable formulations.
- Conduct excipient compatibility studies, taste masking, solubility enhancement, and stability optimization.
Ingredient, Molecule & Delivery System Research
- Evaluate APIs, bioactives, nutraceutical ingredients, and functional compounds.
- Assess efficacy, safety, and commercial feasibility of ingredients and delivery systems.
Scale-Up, Technology Transfer & Manufacturing Support
- Lead formulation transfer from lab-scale to pilot and commercial production.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure seamless commercialization.
Documentation, Compliance & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Maintain detailed R&D documentation, formulation reports, and change control records.
- Ensure compliance with FSSAI, GMP, and pharmaceutical guidelines.
- Support audits and product lifecycle management.
- Work closely with Production, Engineering, QA/QC, Procurement, and Compliance teams to ensure quality and timely execution.
Requirements
- 1–4 years of full-time experience in Food Processing, R&D, or NPD.
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel / Google Sheets).
- Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutics, Food Technology, or Pharmacology.
- Strong underst anding of research methodologies with the ability to deliver focused results.
- High learnability, adaptability, and flexibility in fast-paced project environments.
