Marico Limited is seeking a dynamic Buying Executive – Food Ingredients to join our Procurement team in Mumbai. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food ingredients, a deep understanding of sourcing and category development, and strong commercial acumen.
Role Purpose:
To lead sourcing, buying, and category development for food ingredients, ensuring consistent supply, quality, and sustainability across categories like seasoning, spices, flavours, oleoresins, starch, and flours.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Graduate/Postgraduate in Food Technology or Agriculture Science preferred (Engineering graduates with relevant experience may apply)
- 3–5 years of experience in food ingredient sourcing/buying (seasonings, spices, flavours, oleoresins)
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of food and agri-commodity value chains
- Knowledge of IPM, GAP, RFA, FSA, and sustainable farming practices
- Excellent attention to detail, system orientation, and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP
Responsibilities Include:
- Manage procurement of spices, flavours, starches, and other food ingredients
- Build and manage vendor relationships to improve quality, cost, and innovation
- Conduct market surveys, vendor audits, and sustainability assessments
- Drive strategic sourcing, vendor development, and cost efficiency
- Ensure regulatory compliance and traceability across the supply chain
- Regular travel to producer and vendor locations (1–2 weeks/month)
