Position: Assistant Quality Assurance Manager
Location: Gurugram, Haryana, India
About the Role
Tata Consumer Products is seeking an Assistant Quality Assurance Manager to ensure high product quality standards, drive process excellence, and support continuous improvement initiatives across co-pack and plant operations.
Key Deliverables
- Collaborate proactively with Tech-Ops and Planning teams to minimize material expiry at the plant level.
- Drive successful NPD/EPD launches with RFT, ensuring zero loss to business growth.
- Effectively manage the approved QA budget for the assigned cluster.
Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Conduct regular market visits to ensure product integrity (Product & Packaging Quality Index) as per design standards.
- Partner with Supply Chain to address internal complaints with urgency.
- Work with Procurement and Planning to resolve incoming material challenges on time.
- Collaborate with Tech-Ops on consumer complaint root cause analysis and mitigation planning.
Internal Processes
- Implement corporate SOPs, processes, and practices across cluster Co-Pack units.
- Periodically assess and improve Co-Pack operational quality (GMP, RFT, FSSAI/BIS, GLP).
- Drive Food Safety Certification for Co-Pack units.
- Manage daily incident deviations across the cluster.
- Conduct training programs for cluster team members (Co-Pack, Tech Ops, Supply Chain, and Sales).
Innovation & Learning
- Lead the Statistical Process Control (SPC) program for continuous improvement and risk assessment of new facilities.
- Build process engineering, automation, and digitalization capabilities in clusters.
- Oversee new plant/line qualification and validation of existing product extensions.
Critical Success Factors
- Education: B.Tech/M.Sc./M.Tech in Chemical Science, Chemical Engineering, or Food Process Engineering from a reputed institute.
- Experience: 7+ years in Liquid Beverage, Food Processing, Flavour, or Alcoholic Beverage industries.
- Strong technical understanding of Water Treatment, Sanitation, Homogenization, Heat & Mass Transfer.
- Familiar with filling technologies (Cold Fill, Hot Fill, Aseptic, Carbonated, etc.) and multiple packaging formats (PET, Cup, Tetra Pack, Glass, Pouch).
- Good knowledge of Calibration, Analytical Chemistry, Microbiology, and Packaging Analysis.
- Working knowledge of BIS/FSSAI regulations, FSSC, HACCP, ISO 22000, ISO 17025, and documentation practices.
Desirable Factors
- Six Sigma certification.
- Knowledge of GLP, GMP, and ISO certification processes.
- Proficient with quality improvement tools and digital systems.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
