Assistant General Manager – Quality

Educational Qualification:
Post Graduate/Graduate in Food Technology or MSc Chemistry
Experience:
10-12 Years (Experience in Food FMCG or food processing unit preferred)
Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead the factory quality team and collaborate with other departments to ensure products meet company and regulatory standards.
Manage the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the Quality & Food Safety Management System and other relevant food safety standards.
Lead internal and external audits for compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Conduct food safety risk assessments and create corrective action plans for any non-conformances or audit findings.
Oversee the inspection and testing of raw materials and packaging supplies to ensure they meet specifications.
Supervise the daily operations of the QC lab, ensuring accurate and timely testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
Implement real-time quality control checks throughout the production process to ensure product quality.
Use data-driven approaches like SPC, Six Sigma, and Lean methodologies to enhance quality performance.
Utilize quality control charts and visual management tools to monitor processes and detect variations in real time.
Lead root cause investigations and collaborate with the operations team to resolve quality issues quickly.
Integrate digital tools and platforms to streamline quality management processes, including document control, audit management, CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions), and compliance tracking.
Develop digital dashboards for real-time monitoring of key quality metrics (KPIs) for quick decision-making.
Promote a quality-first mindset across all levels of the organization, emphasizing food safety and quality.
Develop and implement training programs to increase awareness of food safety, quality standards, and regulatory compliance.
Engage employees in quality initiatives such as quality circles, Kaizen events, and suggestion programs.
Address customer complaints regarding product quality and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
Preferred Skills:
In-depth knowledge of Quality & Food Safety Management systems, including HACCP, FSSC 22000, GFSI, and BRC standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
