About the Role:
Britannia Industries Limited is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Area Sales Manager to join their dynamic sales team. As an Area Sales Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving business growth, managing the sales infrastructure, and ensuring effective sales operations within the assigned geography. You will also be responsible for managing key internal and external relationships, including coordinating with wholesalers, institutions, and consumers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market and Sell:
    • Firm up sales and distribution plans, ensuring quarterly phasing aligns with business objectives.
    • Analyze potential market areas to expand business and recruit authorized wholesalers (A/W) to enhance coverage.
    • Manage sales infrastructure at the depot level, ensuring alignment with targets and executing the business plan effectively.
    • Oversee the movement of goods and ensure compliance with receivable norms.
  • Sales and Operations Planning:
    • Review S&OP volumes and assess marketing initiatives to identify any gaps, adjusting estimates as needed.
    • Plan trade promotions, monitor sales trends, and ensure product availability at the market level.
  • Human Resources Management:
    • Set Key Result Areas (KRAs) for Territory Sales In-charges (TSIs), provide feedback, and identify training opportunities.
    • Lead recruitment efforts for new team members and coordinate employee orientation and training programs.
  • Customer Satisfaction and Market Returns:
    • Resolve consumer complaints efficiently, ensuring timely follow-ups and action reports.
    • Evaluate market returns and investigate any discrepancies in returns from A/W to ensure accurate reporting.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • Educational Qualification: MBA or Graduate (depending on years of experience)
  • Experience:
    • For MBA: 2-5 years of sales experience
    • For Graduate: 6-8 years of sales experience
  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of channel sales & distribution operations.
  • Basic IT skills and objective-oriented with commercial acumen.
